Adobe Photoshop gets Features for Desktop and ipad

Photoshop recently launched the shape of several new feature updates and performance improvements across its desktop and iPad apps.

Photoshop used for image editing and manipulation released new features to mark it’s 30th birthday. Although the software has witnessed a lot of competitions over the years, it is still one of the most feature-rich and complete products on the market today.

Adobe celebrated the milestone announcing several new features for desktop and iPad users of Photoshop. Starting with an enhanced Content-Aware Fill (CAF) workspace on PCs. This feature allows for selecting and filling multiple areas of an image without having to leave the workspace window.

An improved Lens Blur filter is the next major feature for desktops that now uses the GPU to achieve a more realistic look for images. Also, the updated algorithm is able to generate blurrier edges on objects in front of the focal plane. It can also provide more colorful specular highlights in photos.

The UI is more responsive to mouse and stylus movements with smoother panning and zooming. For Windows users, the latest Photoshop update removes the need for WinTab drivers. This is mostly used by artists for supporting styluses or digitizer tablets.

Photoshop launch for iPad by Adobe’s wasn’t well-received initially due to a lack of features. Also, the company has put out multiple releases in a span of three months to close the gap with its desktop counterpart and is shipping new capabilities. 

These updates would also help improve uploading and downloading speed of files over the cloud. This Adobe states could end up being 90% faster depending on the size of the file and network speed.
