Accenture Survey: 8 in 10 businesses concerns on 5G Network

Accenture carried out a survey. It showed that out of 10 businesses, 8 are of the belief that the new 5G network will be the most revolutionary network evolution. Their concern, however, is on its security.

79% of the respondents believed that the 5G network will have a positive impact on their company. This also includes 57% who believe that it will be revolutionary.
Unlike the 5G network, only 24% believed that the impact of 4G was revolutionary.

The survey was based on the responses of over 2000 business and technology decision-makers. They cut across 12 industry sectors in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

“Executives believe that 5G can help secure their businesses, but that 5G network architecture also presents inherent challenges in terms of user privacy, number of connected devices and networks, and service access and supply chain integrity,” said George Nazi, senior managing director of Communications and Media industry lead at Accenture.

The survey suggests how business are planning to adjust and deal with these challenges. Also, 74% of respondents said they expect to redefine policies related to security as 5G emerges.
Meanwhile, nearly 31% are of the opinion that the cost of implementing 5G will be too expensive to run.

However, despite challenges expected, the future looks bright for businesses embracing the technology.
“With the right business strategy and ecosystem collaboration, the signs point towards a world of compelling 5G use cases and business outputs,” said Nazi.
