Infinix smart 3 Plus Reviews, Specifications

Infinix Smart 3 Plus

The Infinix Smart 3 Plus is one of the newest brands of smartphones from Infinix. It is loaded with a host of interesting features.

The entry-level part of the smartphone is most likely one of the most interesting ones. Truly, we have brands like Xiaomi, Realme and more fighting their way to the top. However, it seems like Infinix is beginning to take it a step further.  The company has introduced a slew of products in the entry-level price band. The latest being the Infinix Smart 3 Plus. The phone comes loaded with a price tag of N40,000 and it is available for purchase on platforms like Jumia. The Infinix Smart 3 Plus is loaded with a host of very interesting features. This could be very tempting for first-time smartphone buyers or those looking for a phone on a tight budget.

Things we like about Infinix Smart 3 Plus

One of the most interesting things about this device is the design. The phone is loaded with a glossy finish at the back panel, which is also equipped with a mirror finish. The look adds some premium looks in this budget phone. It also makes it stand out of from the weird-looking crowd of smartphones. An added advantage is the fact that It is lightweight in nature and fits comfortably in your hand. At N40,000, this is most definitely one of the beautiful-looking smartphones we have come across. However, there’s still a lot untouched. You would still need to settle with smudges at the back and front panel. Thankfully, the company has given a protective case with this one.

Another thing we adored about Infinix smart 3 Plus is the display. The phone comes packed with a 6.21-inch HD+ display and a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The display is also clean and decent considering the price. It also offers some good color reproduction. The viewing angles seem to be decent enough for the pricing. if you are one of those who want to enjoy video content on a large screen, then this device should be considered as a good option.

Infinix Smart 3 Plus Specifications

The Infinix Smart 3 Plus runs on Android 9.0 Pie. This is based on the company’s Cheetah XOS 5.0 running on top of it. The user interface is easy to operate and it also comes packed with some exciting features. There is a page when you swipe left. The page helps you in search, shows recent apps, weather information, and even lets you book a cab from anywhere you are. We also awed with the fact that the company has given app drawer. Thus, making your home screen less cluttered.

The daylight camera performance of the Infinix Smart 3 Plus is quite alright for its budget. When it was tested, the phone was able to take some good shots in broad daylight. Although the pictures are a little dull in nature, however, the detailing is on par with the competition. Additionally, the phone does a good job of capturing macro shots.

Infinix Smart 3 Plus Battery

Based on our testing, the battery also does a quite decent job. The 3,500mAh battery lasted for almost one full day with normal usage. Even after this, there was still 15 percent battery left. Under power usage, you can easily get 4 to 6 hours of good battery life. When it comes to charging speed, the phone can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in almost 1 hour and 30 minutes. Asides this, the fingerprint sensor works quite fine, but it is not as fast as what other smartphones offer.

Things we don’t like about Infinix Smart 3 Plus

Focusing on the downside, its low light performance is not really great. The photos came out grainy. There was a particular increase in the drop of quality in our testing. We also found that there was a certain shutter delay and the phone took a couple of seconds to load the previously clicked image. The selfie performance is a little below average as well. The phone does only an average in broad daylight as most of the time the background was overexposed. When in low light, the selfie came out to be full of plenty of noises and the quality was not impressive at all.

Another low point is some features on the user interface. For starters, there is so much bloatware present on this phone, which spoils the mood. Secondly, the company has the Smart Panel. This really is a rip-off of Samsung’s Edge menu. Even though you can customize the Smart Panel, most of the time you will end up clicking a  wrong icon with your thumb due to the two columns. It would have been a better fit if the company provided a single column. Additionally, there is one AIBox that technically blocks notification. Ironically, however,  the app shows a permanent notification, which you just cannot disable.

For the phone’s performance, It really comes packed with an Helio A22 processor, which delivers some good results. This is if you are not a heavy user. However, if you’re a heavy user, you may have some issues eventually. The phone handles most of the daily tasks quite well, although, if you are into heavy multitasking, then you might feel some shutter or delay. For the gaming aspect, it can handle casual games, but it is not suitable for tackle high-end games. For this price point, you shouldn’t expect a phone to run PUBG Mobile with smooth graphics? Or would you?

Our Verdict

The Infinix Smart 3 Plus most definitely looks like an interesting proposition for an average of N40,000. The phone stands tall in the design department, and the display is not so bad either. The battery life can also last one full day. When you’re coming to the cameras, which also happens to its major highlight, it falls a bit short of expectations. The selfie experience is quite on the average side in our opinion. However, if you consider the price, it is really hard to find other phones offering these features. So far, the general ratings of the phone have been quite fair and it is a phone that is worth it if your workload is minimal. If you’re interested in more reviews of phones, click here.
